Todd on Charlotte Talks!

Friday, January 29

It isn’t just new apartments that are popping up around town, art is too! And poetry. They’re called Wall Poems and you’ll find them on buildings and other surfaces. A lot of local artists are working to get more art into public spaces and engage Charlotteans in the process. We meet some of the people behind these unique art installations and find out how they create art that represents the neighborhoods they occupy.

The final showcase for the “Skyline Artists in Residence” at the Goodyear building is tonight, January 29.

Amy Bagwell – Charlotte Artist. Co-founder and director of “The Wall Poems of Charlotte” and Co-Coordinator of “Skyline Artists in Residence”.

Amy Herman – Charlotte Artist and Co-Coordinator of “Skyline Artists in Residence.” She also teaches Photography and art appreciation at CPCC and is the Owner of Vintage Charlotte which hosts pop-up markets.

Graham Carew – Charlotte Artist, he was a welding student at CPCC and is Amy's partner on “The Wall Poems of Charlotte” and the public art project in the Elizabeth neighborhood. He also runs the “Skyline Artists in Residents” project with Amy B. and Amy H.

Todd Stewart – Program Director of Public Art, Arts & Science Council and a resident artist (sculptor) for “Skyline Artists in Residence.”
